The 2011 Gardening Season Has Begun!

We've finally been able to get our hands in the dirt. The new gardens from last year seem to have weathered the winter well. There are still a few shrubs that we're waiting to see whether they've suffered winter kill.

We've started on this year's first (and maybe only) big project - stone around the original garden with retaining walls to create terraces. We're not going to rush it but will work at it as we have the time. Of course, our progress will be captured on the Original Garden page. Stay tuned!

July 23, 2010 The Kitchen Corner Patio Garden is ready to relax in!

All of our hard work has really paid off. We are really pleased with how this patio and garden turned out. Pretty good for our first landscaping project :)

Now that my thesis defense is successfully behing me I predict The Kitchen Corner Patio Garden is going to be very well used.

The Kitchen Corner Patio is Finished!!!

We've made progress on my original garden (which I now believe can be saved thanks to a huge effort by Terry and Evan, and now has a page of its own) and on the kitchen corner garden. Check out the progress on those pages. I've added another page to capture "other projects." The first one is a new sidewalk at Granny and Grampa D's. My thesis defense is early next week so there won't be much gardening happening this weekend coming - but it will be great to have my thesis finalized!!
